Artificial Intelligence in Primary Schools: First Training Session for Teachers

On 29 October 2026, the first of three sessions dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence in primary education was held at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) in Skopje. The session brought together 13 teachers from seven primary schools in the Municipality of Kisela Voda: “Krume Kepeski”, “Kiril Pejčinović”, “Kuzman Šapkarev”, “Nevena Georgieva – Dunja”, “Kuzman Josifovski – Pitu”, “St. Kliment Ohridski” and “Rajko Žinzifov”.

The session focused on the practical use of ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM and Claude in teaching. Teachers were introduced to ways of using free artificial intelligence tools, together with concrete activities that can be applied across different school subjects. The session therefore focused on practical examples of how AI-based tools can be incorporated into everyday teaching activities.

The lecturers were Prof. Igor Mishkovski, PhD, and Prof. Sasho Gramatikov, PhD, from FCSE, who presented the possibilities offered by contemporary artificial intelligence tools and their application in an educational context through practical examples.

This was the first of three planned sessions for teachers from the Municipality of Kisela Voda. Two additional sessions will follow, while the first classroom activities involving AI are planned for November, providing an opportunity to begin applying the knowledge gained during the training sessions in the classroom.
