VEZILKA at the Western Balkans Digital Summit 2026
On 13 October 2026, Prof. Boro Jakimovski, PhD, from the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE), UKIM, represented VEZILKA at the 8th Western Balkans Digital Summit (WB6 Digital Summit 2026) in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, which brought together government representatives, European institutions, technology experts and industry leaders to discuss digital transformation and regional cooperation.
As part of the programme, Prof. Jakimovski participated in the panel “AI & Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Perspectives,” which explored the evolving role of artificial intelligence and its implications for innovation, industry and society.
The discussion provided an opportunity to present VEZILKA’s role as North Macedonia’s AI Factory Antenna and its contribution to making artificial intelligence more accessible to companies, researchers, startups and public institutions. By connecting local organisations with the wider European AI ecosystem, VEZILKA aims to support the development and adoption of AI through access to advanced computing resources, specialised expertise, training and technical support.
The summit also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in accelerating digital transformation across the Western Balkans, particularly as artificial intelligence creates new opportunities for innovation, economic development and public services. For VEZILKA, participation in such discussions provides an opportunity to strengthen connections with regional and European partners, exchange experiences and explore approaches that can support the development of AI capabilities in North Macedonia.
